I am Masoud Hoore. I have a PhD in theoretical Physics from Research Center (Forschungszentrum) Jülich and University of Cologne. I run Investophilia as a side business and continually develop it. And of course, I use Investophilia for analyzing my own investments, and suggest you to give it a try. It's free of charge for small portfolios.

Here we guide you step by step to set up your portfolio and analyze your performance.

• Sign up to Investophilia for free. Choose a good username as you will not be able to change it in the future.


• By default, a portfolio is assigned to each user. Set up your portfolio in the portfolio settings, . Here you can set up your preferred portfolio currency, and the general fee and tax rates. These are useful for calculating your net asset values and effective future returns.


• Add a security by hitting Add Security. It will direct you to the security search tool. Enter the name or the symbol of your security, e.g. Microsoft or MSFT, and hit the search button. Choose the desired security from the found securities, and hit the create button. Fill more details in the form, and save your security. You can see all your securites by hitting the menu icon . At the moment, Investophilia supports only public securities such as equities, ETFs, and mutual funds.


• Add a transaction to your security by hitting Add Transaction. It will direct you to the create transaction form. Find your security to which you want to add a transaction, choose the right transaction type, and the enter the correct amounts as they will be used in your portfolio analysis. You can see all your transactions by hitting the menu icon . You can also see all the transactions for a specific security by clicking on the name of the security.


• Once you have added all the securities and their corresponding transactions, all you need to do is to go to regularly check the analysis page by hitting the menu icon . There, you can set an analysis date, which is set to today by default, and choose the analytical figures you want to see for your selected securities.
